We recently completed changing the roof at one of Panama’s landmark restaurants, the Mi Ranchito on the Amador Causeway. The old natural palm roof was long overdue and leaks had already begun to damage the structure. Because of this we ended up having to replace about 20% of the mangle wood structure. We also treated the structure against termites and re-varnished the whole thing.
Installing the new Palmex roof was quite a challenge because the owner of Mi Ranchito didn’t want to close the restaurant completely. To accommodate this we had to work on one section of roof at a time …
