We are pleased to announce that Palmex Panama is now a member of the newly formed Panama Green Building Council (PGBC).
We firmly believe in sustainable development and environmental responsibility and we think that our Palmex products are much more environmentally friendly than natural palm leaves, as you can read in our document entitled “Environmental Responsibility“.
Through the PGBC, we hope to help foster better awareness of the importance of respecting the environment, especially in Panama where much of the Nation’s future hangs on protecting it’s natural beauty.
Feel free to contact us for further details on the environmental aspects of our products, …

Palmex Panama Video
We now have a short video explaining the virtues of our products.
Thanks to Inside Panama Real Estate for producing this video for us.
Welcome to our new website!
Welcome to our new and improved website! With a cleaner and more modern design, this new website puts the priority on pictures and should also make finding information easier. Over the next few weeks we will add more content so you can be better prepared to address your thatched-roofing needs.
Why Palmex Roofing?
We just published a document explaining the advtanges and long-term economics of our Palmex roofing products: Why Palmex Roofing?
Demo Roof
We now have a demo roof in front of our office!
You should be able to easily spot it on the south side of the Interamericana highway between Gorgona and Coronado. You are welcome to stop by and check it out!
We finally have products in the warehouse!
We finally received our container of Palmex products on December 31st. We had several delays due to bureaucracy and mistakes, but our shelves are now stocked and we are ready to go.
We have also finalized our Conditions & Prices.
You can now see our warehouse along the Interamericana in Gorgona:
It will soon have a Palmex roof over the entrance, so you will be able to see our fantastic product first hand.
Setting up a new business
We are finally on the ground in Panama and more or less ready to do business! Michel is on location doing final business preparations, making contacts with potential partners and customers, and getting our office space ready. The ETA for our container is December 15th. It will be great to finally have products to show our customers.
Container delayed
Our container was delayed leaving Montreal because apparently, the water levels are too low in the St-Lawrence river and the ship couldn’t take a full load.
It is now scheduled to arrive in the first week of December. However, we will still be opening our office in Gorgona in the third week of November.
New Pictures
Just note to let you know that we have uploaded some beautiful pictures of Palmex projects from around the world. You can find them here.
Our first container is on its way!
Today we placed our order for the first container’s worth of Palmex product. The container should arrive at our warehouse in Gorgona by mid-November.
Successful trip to Panama!
We had a very successfull trip to Panama and managed to take care of all the logistics and legal issues involved in starting a new company. Most importantly, we found ourselves a warehouse/office right on the Interamericana highway in Gorgona, just before entering Coronado.
We should be settled in this office space by mid-November. We will have a demo bohio (aka gazebo, or palapas) right in front of the building so you will be able to see what the product looks like in real life!
Visit to Panama
We will be in Panama from September 26th to October 2nd to finalize our business arrangements and select a warehouse location.
We will also be available to meet any potential customer or architect/builder who is interested in learning more about our products. We will be in a position to discuss prices and take orders
We will have a permanent presence in the Coronado area by November 1st and our first container of product will arrive shortly thereafter.
Contact us if you would like to meet with us during that visit (use the “contact us” link at the top of this site).
